Paul Brockie purchased his family home in Nelson in the summer of ‘98’, a cold winter soon followed. A quick inspection of the roof space and “no insulation”..Hmm! The roof pitch was very low and no way could Paul install fibreglass successfully. A phone call to a ‘loose fill insulation’ chap in Christchurch and a week later the ceiling was insulated. Paul saw an opportunity with his existing building business and set about building an ‘Insulation Solutions’ showroom called the Home Energy Centre where people can see, touch and discuss all types of insulation products; set up to educate both the public and builders that there are a number of insulation solutions and energy saving measures available. So, if you’re a DIY person or want products installed by their fully trained staff, AbsoluteEnergy, currently an EECA (Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority) partner, are here to help you out.
